To Wait or Not To Wait?

When is having sex with a person too soon? I remember when growing up a female was told to make a man wait months the norm is 3 months before going all the way. But does the wait really have any meaning to it? Does having sex the first night mean any difference then months down the road? I use to think so but as I got older my view has changed completely I'm not saying to have sex the first night but going through with the wait could be a disappointment. At least you know by having sex earlier you two know what each has to offer. Just imaging waiting months and then when you give in it's nothing like you thought it would be and you now you feel like you just wasted all this time with a person who cannot please you in bed. And let's be honest bedroom pleasure holds a lot of leverage when dating a person or seeing something long term. Let's not forget the assumption that if you give it up early the guy won't stay around which is not always true. There are plenty of people who has had sex early on when dating and they are actually in a serious relationship. Then there are some who waits and when they actually do give in the guy ends up disappearing once he gets what he wanted. So is there really a deadline on when having sex with someone?
